when you're weighed down with regret

If we were to walk constantly with shackles how would we feel?
Would we struggle to escape?
Would we learn to carry its weight?
Or would we ask for help?
Likely never the latter, for who would ask for help for ones own shackles?
These shackles are the same as regret
We often sit in our pain, adapting to the weight of it
Some escape
Some carry it alone
And others ask for reassurance
The only ones who get rid of the shackles are the ones who acknowledge them but learn
To free themselves in order to finally feel the world without weight
