40 Lines The fog was misty among the crowded, lighted pathway on this dreary night. The figure of a dark, sensible man, enshrouded by a voice, was inquiring to be heard. Drawing many hearts to someone dear is a deliberate choice anyone can make. Let's make it decisively clear: Has anyone heard this haunting voice? Crisp and clean in the gleaming lights, the land was caught in a haze. Like the acting sights of the modern day, the sky showed its dismal ways. In the Valley of Shadows, until the morning dew was lifted, anyone's guess would be lingering. The journey was long, I figured. While I began to jot down my memory, I turned to ballads. They were sad enough to make me cry. Bring out the towels to wipe away my tears. It surely would work; I couldn't deny it. I was tired when I opened up my eyes. I saw something beyond those lies. My dark-filled days began to mend when the Valley of Shadows started a new trend. I knew in my heart that you were coming; Your love came to me as my defense. My heart was beating. My dreams began to make more sense. A new world was approaching, I could tell. It was my detection, I dreamt you were here. My love for you is hard to resist. "Is this a test of my reflection?" My trials and tribulations have ceased to exist. Like a fairy tale romance, it was magical; it was meant to be. You saved my life, my lovely Knight. The red and yellow roses swarmed around me, as I supposed. The gladiolas were vibrant and beautiful. When you came out of my dreams and into my life, you made the Valley of Shadows disappear. You thought of me, I could tell. Oh, such a lovely man that you are! Written by Anna Marie Carlson Preferred Author Sunday, October 5, 2025 |
