A poem about feeling stuck with someone who hurts you but you cant leave |
| HER I'm holding my breath I'm biting my tongue I'll be drowning myself till all this is done I want to cut the rope But I guess thats to cut throat That's what people always say But I don't want to live this way another day I question whether or not they have ever felt this way Dying a little more every day Here I sit holding my breath and biting my tongue Hoping to all gods that soon this will be done I'm holding my breath and biting my tongue I never took the bait I was born in captivity Now im trapped in this cage And all her rage She's walking over boundaries like state lines Feeding me all her lies And tears streak down my face like rainy streams Quiet and quivering Shaking and quaking Running and rippling Trapped and tied I wish I could run the way the rain does Down the street and away Dribbling into crevises and despercing Instead I sit here Still holding my breath and still biting by tongue Looking out the window, watching the rain Biding my time till the days of my captivity are all over and done ACO |
