Eight line poems

DOUGHNUTS
I like the thought of a doughnut
Round, warm, and oh so sweet
But then it goes to your gut and then to your butt
It wouldn’t surprise if it drops to your feet

The hole in the doughnut is calorie free
Which is a wonderful thing for my diet
I might just eat the hole, its good for my soul
Or I might eat it raw and forget to fry it.

CRABBY NEIGHBOUR

Quick to protest and criticise
My neighbour doesn’t miss a thing
From behind her curtain, she hides and spies
And never stops complaining

She complains about the garbage man
And about the barking dog
She moans about the delivery van
And writes it all down in her log

POISON

Have you heard about the mushroom killer?
The story of her is quite the thriller.
She invited her family over for dinner
Beef Wellington, it was tasty— quite the winner.

Death cap mushrooms were in the stuffing,
They caused her family so much suffering.
She thought she’d been so clever
But now she’s in prison for ever and ever.
