Why jump through the hoops of getting ready and celebrating holiday after holiday?

“Hey, Jeana, why are there pumpkins and turkeys hanging on your Christmas Tree?”

“Yeah., Mark has yet to finish decorating outside. He’s trying to figure out how to mix our baby Jesus manger scene with the Indians and the Pilgrims offering pumpkin gifts.”

“That’s, uh, very creative. How’d you two come up with that plan?”

“Well, you know we never take down our holiday decorations. So? It wasn’t really an idea as much as it was what it is. Besides, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas all blend together these days. It’s become one unending celebration. You ought to get in on the act.”

“You think? I don’t know if I would like all those attention seeking strangers taking cell phone pictures of your yard, with their stalled cars in the middle of our street.”

“That’s what I’m saying. It’s why I’ve got the kids manning our holiday sales stand. We’re selling Christmas decorated Thanksgiving goodies as fast as we can wrap them, not to mention the bags of day after Halloween candy sale stuff we bought at the store.”

“Yeah, I was wondering about that. Having customers have to go through a spook alley to get to the holiday stand was a stroke of genius. It lined them up in single file almost exploding to buy something and escape.”

“That was Mandy, our teenager's idea. She dreamed it up as a way of getting revenge on her ex-boyfriend when he dumped her because he didn’t like the old hag witch costume she wore on Halloween. He wanted to see her in something more sexy, Male chauvinist pig. He got lost in the straw bale maze.”

“Well, the real question I came over was to ask, why didn’t you fit in New Years, and keep the holiday flowing? “

“You’re hired, darling. Why didn’t I think of that? It’s inspired. Then there’s Valentines, St. Patricks Day. We’ll have the big box stores and online retailers eating out of our hands.”

“A year long holiday with Santa exploding fireworks on the Fourth Of July, we’ll keep people guessing. What fun.”

“And nobody will ever have to put their decorations away. No more big effort to spend your life savings on Christmas. Every festive tradition mixed as one will kind of even celebrations out. The fun will be how to put them together in new and interesting ways.”

“Cool. Shopping one holiday at a time was getting boring and expensive. This is going to take off like wildfire.”
