A tease of lovely jealousy

         Are you jealous, my love?
It’s just small talk, what’s the problem?
Everyone does it, it does not count as flirting.
         Jealous, my love?
It was a polite smile, what’s the problem?
They would consider me illmannered otherwise.
         Jealous, my love?
Don’t doubt me, you have my full attention always.
They could never compare to you.
         Don’t be jealous, my love.
It’s just small talk, oh so very boring, nowhere near your delightful banter.
         So, what’s the problem?
It was just a polite smile, not anything like my endearment to you.
         So, what’s the problem?
It is called being well-mannered, takes thought and effort.
         So, what’s the problem?
There is none, my love.
I am effortlessly and undeniably, yours my love.
         Jealous, my love?
Don’t be, I see and care for only you.
         Jealous, love?
No, not at all.
