lost in the fog what they find there?

THE TOWER

Tevaria rubbed his eyes as he rode through the mist that was rising, though he knew this region of the land. He remembered seeing the tree where he decided to turn to the right as he so often did.

His friends were with him, Bernia and Debra were less confident than Tevaria was. Bernia remembered that the last time they passed the tree, they had gone left instead of right. She was driving a coach through these woods, and there had been rumors that there had been monsters seen in the region. But has never been by them. They thought it was a joke.

Tevaria said,”They don;t exist. They are tall tales told to travellers so they won;t journey any further than this. I know different don’t I?”.

“Teva, don't you know better than that? You are tempting fates by saying that” Debra said as she looked at him. Waving her right hand at her horse’s ear.

“Nonsense. There is nothing there that I fear.” Tevaria said as he slapped his rein on his horses withers.

“Careful what you say, Brother. They may be listening to you,” Bern said as drew up her crop to strike her two horses.

“I don’t think that the fates are listening to me,” Teva said as he looked at her.

Her sister Debra was having nightmares ever since they left the community they were from. These nightmares involved a grey tower rising out of the ground, there was a ruined structure where this tower stood. It had hexagonal windows in it. There was a wooden door there that was closed.

There would be skeletons and bodies strewn throughout this region where this tower is. She felt that she should go in the direction that Teva was headed in. Drawn here, by this sense that she had come into this back of fog. It was daytime when they rode here. Her mother seemed to think they had something to worry about.

She thought she would see a light coming from the tower, the top does not look significant. It would tower above the trees and brush that make up the region, and they would hear wolves howl.

Bernia thought she was joshing with them both, However her face betrayed no humor in it. The mist was still thick as coal is black. The sun had been descending as they arrived here. It had been as quiet as death is an end to life.

Tevaria was quiet now, almost as if he was afraid to speak out loud. His stomach rumbled as he thought about what they had left of the food they had with them. He thought that something was wrong, but he could not place what it was that was wrong.

They started out with a group of other people who wanted to find a new land with which to live on. There had been raids made on the coaches as they rode through this region of land, the rumors sounded so off. That they laughed them off as not possible.

But some of these rumors had bodies that could not be dismissed. There was one area where there were four bodies that looked unlike anything they had ever seen before. It was muscular, the hands had long nails like a vultures, its head had four eyes, its teeth were fangs, Its nostrils were like that of racoon, It wore armor, that looked to have been plucked from people or humanoids it had slain, The armor hung off its body, It was seven feet tall. The holes in its skin were numerous. They had been gutted like a pig.

These beings looked as if they were perhaps orcs or so we believed an orc to look like. They were monsters of muscle.

Tevaria did not like the looks of these beings being found here. There had been no sign of these being until recently. There were other people who swore that they were being watched by something they did not know or understand.

These feelings manifested themselves once the full moon rose into the air. Shamans were concerned about the full moon rising. There would be other things that would go amiss now.
There have been mentions of beings with fangs, and faces that looked covered in hair they would be unable to speak, would be howling if they tried to say anything at all.

The dead would rise. They were not amused by tales that were spoken of this happening. They had seen full moons before, it never amounted to much of anything happening. The full moon had risen a week ago.

The party they were with avoided the signs where battles had been fought beforehand. When the three of them woke, they found that they were the only ones there. The others had left them while they slept.

There were signs of a struggle in the camp. Their belongings were strewn throughout the region, and animals were killed. It happened in the dead of night. There were some bodies found there as well. It indicates that they have been able to ascertain what they will have left is what they knew.
