| won the Daily Flash Fiction Contest The stone through my window wasn’t unexpected. Spontaneous attacks like this had been going on since I’d received the letter from Silk. She thought leaving me would stop such nonsense from coming my way. Instead, it enhanced them. When Silk wasn’t available, the anger turned my way. I’d tried ignoring the slights and embarrassments, thinking they’d fade. No chance. They’re getting worse and more frequent. I try not to get involved with my brother Harry’s darker side. We’re like black and white. I haven’t even mentioned him in passing to anyone else in years. No-one knows he’s a serial killer, a gun for hire, a psycho if you ask me. He reached out to me, not me to him. His underground legion of evil had revealed ripples that included me. Dear Harry was asked to eliminate me and wondered what was going on. I don’t know how Harry got hold of Silk, but he did. Apparently they are an item now. Curiosity is Harry’s weak spot. It is the one thing that can really get to him. When I clued him in, he took it as a challenge. The hand in the cooler he sent me had a note attached. It is the hand that threw the rock. |
