None yet so

I don’t know what’s worse:
the camera or the pen
as I record my labored breaths.

I want to cuddle by a fire,
every ember assuring me,
but the unnamed fears cling.

A deep inhale,
I release the resistance,
I soften to give it a try.

I’m afraid to get breathless
and I’m afraid of what I carry,
but with you, I can try.
