a tree it's about |
| So, I'm not a fan of the singer, Kelly Clarkson, but I am a fan of good music - and this is a REALLY good Christmas song. With the first notes of the son, along with the fantastic instruments accompanying her vocals, it's a hard song to not bop around to. It’s cheerful without being cheesy, festive without being frantic, and heartfelt without being heavy. It’s the kind of song that can lift your mood on a gray winter morning or amplify your excitement on a bright December afternoon. There’s a buoyant energy running through the track that makes it almost impossible to sit still. It’s the kind of song that makes you tap your foot without realizing it, or hum along even if you don’t know all the words. And perhaps that’s why the song resonates so deeply: it captures the feeling of holiday happiness in motion. This year is the culmination of many Christmas holidays with my husband, and we look at one another with the same happy fun, and gratefulness of heart, as our early years. It isn't about the things, it really isn't. It's about knowing, really knowing you are spending time and making more memories with THE ONE you love, and, who LOVES you on Christmas day. “Underneath the Tree” isn’t just a holiday song—it’s a mood, a moment, and a musical burst of joy that smooths out the edges of the season and fills it with warmth. |
