Fisherman's Feast By ~ Reagana The boat sailed away on the turbulent sea, Creaking and groaning it sighed and it heaved. The winds picked up and tossed it about, Landing on deck, the ugliest trout. The fisherman scrambled to throw it back, But slipping and sliding, momentum he lacked. Heaving and panting, gulping in air, The fish cried out, "this just isn't fair." The boat plunged under, the trout got a drink, But shortly thereafter, the boat did sink. Thrashing and flailing, the fisherman rose, With the ugliest trout clamped on his toes. Slippery and slimy, the fish held on tight, While the fisherman swam with all his might. Breaking the surface, he cried for help, But all he received was a mouth full of kelp. Spitting and spluttering, he choked it out, Then headed for home by the nearest route. Biting and nibbling, the fish persevered, The battle was lost, the fisherman feared. Taking him home, and putting in pan, The fisherman's wife hugged her man. Dinner tonight would be a feast, For her husband defeated this ugly beast. Lines: 24 |
