Wedding Day Mishap
by: Reagana

The day has come at last and here we stand
Before the alter hand in hand

Our vows were made and spoke aloud
All before the doubting crowd

He smiled at me before our kiss
A look of shock what did he miss

For I was turned away from him
Who was that man hair all trimmed

Standing tall above the rest
Shoulders broad and solid chest

I could not pull my eyes away
Vows be damned and come what may

I fled my husband left him standing
With the ring he should be handing

Where did he go I lost his face
Perhaps he played a game of chase

I must find him where has he gone
For the priest won't be here long

I found him by the wedding cake
Tried explaining my mistake

I was meant to marry him you see
For his looks had captured me

From behind me came a shout
And I espied my husband's pout

Letting out a tiny wail
I followed on the stranger's trail

He turned around and laughed at me
When I asked him, “marry me?”
'
Looking at my wedding dress
He said “Of this day, you've made a mess!

Your husband will not take you back
Your clothes and things he will pack

He'll send you on your merry way
For you have ruined his wedding day

My wife awaits me in the car
For karaoke at the bar!”
