Useless information

Here is a truly useless little fact for your day.

Bananas are berries, but strawberries are not. Botanically speaking, bananas fit the rules of a berry because they grow from a single flower with one ovary. Strawberries do not qualify because the seeds sit on the outside and each one is its own tiny fruit.

This information will probably never help you in a serious conversation. It will not pay a bill. It will not solve a problem. But once you know it, it is annoyingly hard to forget.
