Chapter 2 – TENGEN

Night draped the continent of Shingeki in silence.
Pink blossoms shimmered beneath a milky sky, drifting softly around the palace grounds. The moon stood perfectly centered above the great waterfall, its reflection stretching like liquid silver. The atmosphere was calm—silky, almost deceptive.
Inside the palace, Kazui stood before a mirror.
He spoke softly.

Kazui (to his reflection):
“A bet… cruel, yes—but less cruel than the other one.”

His tone deepened, heavier—no longer his own.

Kazui (his reflection answering back):
“But isn’t this exactly what he did to his master?
Are you copying him?”

Kazui clenched his fist and struck the mirror.
Glass shattered violently. Shards carved thin cuts across his face as blood trickled down. He wiped it away without flinching.

Kazui:
“Mad thoughts. Betrayal isn’t someone’s invention that I need to copy.”

He turned and walked swiftly toward the king’s chamber.
At the doorway stood the Royal Guards.
Guard:
“Vice Prince, stop. It is midnight. His Majesty has ordered that no one may enter.”

Kazui didn’t slow down.

Kazui:
“It concerns Kyotin. Shingeki has found it—the very thing the king has waited years for.
I wish to deliver this news personally.”

The guards exchanged glances, then stepped aside.
The doors opened. Kazui entered.
They shut behind him.
Inside, King Fukuyama slept peacefully.
Kazui glanced around the chamber.

Kazui (quietly):
“Rest easy, Master. Please… continue sleeping.”

The atmosphere shifted.
Blossom shadows thickened. Their pink reflections upon the waterfall outside turned crimson. The moon dimmed—then burned orange, as if announcing something forbidden.
Kazui observed the change calmly.

Kazui:
“The stage is set.
Kyotin… in Shingeki.”

A whitish flame ignited above his fingers.
In a single breath, an overwhelming surge of energy burst outward.
A transparent white energy shell formed around Kazui and the king, distorting the air itself.
Fukuyama stirred.

The Royal Guards sensed the eruption and rushed inside—
but the moment they reached forward, their weapons slammed against the invisible barrier.
Steel bent. Energy shattered.
Not a single guard could breach the shell.

Fukuyama (half-awake):
“Kazui… what have yo—”
Kazui pressed the white flame directly into Fukuyama’s chest.

Guard (shouting from outside the barrier):
“Prince! Traitor! Step away from the king!
Withdraw now or your life is forfeit—reinforcements are already on their way!”
Kazui ignored them.
He seized Fukuyama by the neck.

Fukuyama (gasping):
“How many gold coins did Chrono pay… to buy your loyalty to the king—?”

Kazui:
“I’m doing this to rule Shingeki.
Not for Chrono.?

Fukuyama laughed weakly.
Fukuyama:
“You fool… killing me won’t make you king.
There will be a vote. This isn’t Chrono.”

One guard stepped closer a large dent appears on shell, unleashing a surge of power—
Kazui glanced at the guard and released the flame again.

The guard’s body began to melt, collapsing like ice beneath the sun. A white scar burned at the point of contact.

Kazui:
“They’ll vote only for me.
Because I possess Kyotin.”

He tightened his grip.

Kazui:
“You should’ve realized that when I saved your life… from Pravan, irony isn't? The thing you were searching for years was within me. Anyways enough talking rest will be done in heaven.

The intensity of the white flame surged violently, flooding the chamber and shaking the palace walls.

Kazui:
“The myths were true.
The scars left by Kyotin cannot be healed—
not even by the greatest healers of Heaven.”

Narrator:
Kazui finally revealed the truth of Kyotin—
a power bound not only to destruction, but to betrayal.
Day by day, the Ekyums created to judge sinners
were losing their own sense of justice.
