Eight line poem

WRITE A SAILOR POEM.

My father, long time dead now,
Used to tell of when he stood upon the bow
Of a great big ship, traversing oceans wide,
And the things he saw would blow your mind.

Those dark days when he thought his time had come,
When waves as high as mountains, and far reaching,
Threatened to dash his ship upon the rocks
He learned how small a man can feel while breathing.
