A letter to my insecure self.

To myself,

I adore the way you crinkle your nose when you laugh,
you might not look the prettiest or be the smartest person,
but you've got a unique charm of your own.
You're very caring and loving,
how you tend to look out for others to your best ability.
You try your best, even when things seem bleak.
Finding small joys and being content is another trait I admire about you.
You face things head on, and wear your emotions on your sleeve.
I'm very proud of you, from the bottom of my heart.

Although few might make you feel like you're dispensable,
know that you are truly loved and appreciated by the majority.
Your existence itself brings forth peace and warmth in the lives of many.
For those who don't see that, it's fine. You don't need to prove your worth.

Be steady, unwavering and present.
Build your community, with time and effort.
The tears you've spilled, the lessons you've learnt will not go to waste.
They will help you become a better person.

Remember, do not let your emotions consume you.
Recognize them, feel them, let it all out but move forward.
It's okay to fall down, once, twice, how many ever times you need to.
But always get back up, and keep moving forward.
Remind yourself how loved you are.
Carry that love with pride.
