Everyone knows yoga is used to stretch the body and the mind. Joseph wasn't aware of that.

Joseph steps onto the mat, a rubber‑y‑egg,
His spine is a road of potholes, cracked and vague.
The instructor chants, “be
pliable, be light,”
While he contorts like a pretzel in a fight.

Downward Dog turns into a drooping dachshund,
Legs flailing, tail wagging, a comic rebound.
“Find your inner stretch,” she smiles, serene,
He searches for it between his jeans.

Warrior II becomes a wobbling tower,
He leans like a tree in a windy hour.
The room erupts in whispers, giggles, sighs,
Yet Joe’s grin widens, surprise in his eyes.

Each poses a lesson, each slip a laugh,
Pliability promises the staff.
By sunset, his breath is a hummingbird’s song,
He leaves the studio, a bit less wrong.
And the mat waits for his next pliable thong.

Prompt Word:
Pliable
