| Life is Good The broom was too much. I had gotten some money from my employers to get caught up on the cleaning materials. Technically, they should do it, but they were so busy with their fun and fancy life, they forgot. Ann, the eighty-two-year-old, asked if I could get what I needed myself instead of waiting for their godson to visit. Radoff came every week, but he was away. I didn’t mind. The girls were not very messy, and the store was walking distance. Gina, two years younger, wanted to come, but Ann said no, her foot was still healing, she needed to baby it. Thank goodness! Gina walked about as fast as a… well, I can’t think of anything slow enough! I got all the things I needed and enough left for a new broom! Their broom was likely purchased in nineteen twelve... I got kind of excited about the new broom! Until I started back and had to carry it, and the bags too. Then I dropped it, and there was a guy behind me! He got wacked right in the head! He didn’t fall, but he did get quite the large smile red bump on his forehead! “I’m so sorry!” I yelled, putting my bags down and rushing to him. He started with “No Problem” putting his hand, on his head.” But I could see stripes on his head that were bright red. “Come in, I work here!” I guided him up the steps. Ann and Gina took over immediately. We all spent the next hour making sure he was OK. I never knew Ann and Gina could be so wonderful! They acted like they were my parents! One year later they gave us an amazing wedding! Who knew clonking someone with a broom could be romantic! Life is good. |
