Prince Squared Off
by Reagana

The kingdom boasted of fortune and fame
All except the girl with no name
Simple thoughts, trivial dreams...
Down to Earth
No coin purse to judge her worth

Others, with shiny gems and bars of gold
While her unclothed feet on the ground so cold
Sky still blue, birds still sang
She, with only the occasional hunger pang

When sought by the Prince, his bride to be
No way out that she could see
With sparkling gold and diamonds galore
He led her,
fish out of water, across the floor

The King gave a grunt, the Queen, a gasp
All of this nonsense, she could not grasp
So much fidgets, squirming, and fuss
But truly, nothing left to discuss

The Prince squared off against the King
Demanding his grandmother's ring
When given the most perfect rose
His love for her, right
under her nose

Happily ever after, the story is read
No worry at all for her previous dread
