Sher hadn't intentionally hurt anyone, but she realized the boy might be the one her sister liked. Her sister told her 2 years later that a boy from their class liked her, and Sher was shocked. She hadn't even talked to him. On the last day of school, Sher didn't go to get her report card, feeling guilty about her sister's actions. She started computer courses in another city. At a gurdwara, she accidentally met the boy, but looked away due to embarrassment. He did the same. Sher wanted to apologize on her sister's behalf but couldn't muster the courage .(Part-7) (Part-8):- The lioness felt weak, and for some reason, she had a guilt complex, wondering if she had hurt someone's feelings, and also if the guy had gotten a slap because of her. Though the lioness couldn't express it, she was deeply hurt. Her brother's wedding was approaching, but just before the wedding, her sister-in-law accused her and her sister of showing off their status. She wrote under her brother's would-be wife's picture that the lioness and her sister had nothing to do with this relationship and wanted to break it off. Her brother believed his would-be wife, and her father, believing his would-be daughter-in-law, went to her house to apologize. On the day of the wedding, her brother didn't even let her participate in the rituals and instead brought his cousin. There was a custom where the sister puts a silver ring on her brother's finger, but her brother forgot. He asked the lioness to quickly go home and fetch the rings from the almirah. The lioness felt like she was just a servant, not a sister, so she brought the rings but when it was time to get in the car, her brother put his cousin in the car instead. There was another custom where the sister applies haldi and rice to her brother, but when she tried, her brother angrily told her to stop, saying it was ruining his coat. The lioness didn't know her brother was so desperate for the wedding, and a rift had formed between them. The lioness had dreamed of her brother's wedding, but it seemed like it was all falling apart (part-8) |
