Letters to Society |
| What do you suppose the future will be like? Hardly anyone looks into the past to learn from other's mistakes. But there is a goldmine of wisdom awaiting us. Most of us, unfortunately, go about our daily lives putting negative thoughts out into the world, polluting society with mediocrity. While the masses perpetuate the cycle of misery, there are others among us that focus on something different. In the years that pass us by, the majority of people to become dull corporate drones, as these people create a better future. Some will say they are special, or rare, or gifted, talented, genius. In some respects they are, but in many we collectively succumb to the propaganda driven into us as we age into adulthood and lose sight of our unique position in the world. We need to find it again. We will find it again. In this very brief moment in time, our souls have been arrested by the tools we utilize day. Not to build, but to passify. I wonder if Steve Jobs is rotting in hell, or rolling in his grave. We are converting a medium we can use to change the world for the better into a prison of the mind. We are replacing the greatest free speech tool the world has ever seen with a totalitarian wet dream. Stop it. You, yes you, must not allow this to continue. You must use your brain. You must cultivate critical thinking skills. You must learn the basic skills that have built generation upon generation of advanced civilization. You really have no choice, so embrace it. It's not really that hard. It just takes time. It takes patience. It will require some adjustments. But it will be done. Start by taking a walk today. |
