This poem explores the pain of betrayal and hypocrisy from loved ones, contrasting love . |
| You hurt us, but also heal the wounds You love, but also show hatred You defame us, but also show respect How do you keep two faces, one with love and one with hate? We hated hypocrisy, that's why we knew you were fake We recognized your face from afar, but those close to our heart weakened our vision We would've forgiven strangers, but our own people left us Should I become a stranger, or make them think I'm one? I knew their tone, but I kept convincing myself They are flowers, and we are thorns Our love was true, but our own people betrayed us I knew it was just a dream, no one can replace a father And the brother who claimed me as his daughter, doesn't even consider me his sister The moments of our happiness, where did they go? They blurred my vision, but didn't return My brother always pretended to love me, didn't understand me Not a daughter, not even a sister... |
