Of Anguish and Sorrow

The prompt said to write a poem of 14+ lines without using the letter “e” at all.

I’m waiting
for my spirit to catch a sigh
and push it out to worlds
far from this body I inhabit;
I’m looking
for a sign
that says forward motion
is a gift that I can
wrap my arms around
and hold tight without
carrying doubt;
I’m wanting
for my soul
to sway in winds, float on air
and do a jig, a twirl,
a fancy sashay,
soaring in clouds that surpass
this mortal coil
