A poem about the Tower of Babel. |
| One mankind, on promised land, one language, one united stand, so it was in ancient times, when we learned the sacred rhymes. From one second to another, words divided sister from brother, our hope was gone, our desire lost, we crossed the line and payed the cost. As our knowledge grew stronger, our arrogance grew longer, we wanted to shape fate on our own, heaven judged us from its throne. My misguided daughter and son, you reached for heights you can“t outrun, you thought your will could rival mine, now face the weight of your design. We once were all the same, we shared one word, we shared one name, now every tongue just fades away, no common ground, nothing to say. The tower rises step by step, our pride runs high, our faith runs deep, we provoke the fathers fury, the tower falls, thunder comes to bury. |
