Searching for the destination.

Map to Nowhere
Silvern

Creased paper,
Became yellowed with age.
Lines like thin veins,
Tracing a journey.

A dotted line,
Beginning with a faded cross sign!
Where does it go?
The ink is blotted.

A symbol here,
A bird with broken wings.
A whisper in the corner,
Looking but without touching.

The path twists.
Through forests unseen,
Across the rivers, uncrossed.
Each landmark is a question.

Did anyone ever walk this way?
Did they find what they sought?
Or did the map itself?
Lead them astray?

The destination is blank.
A void on the page.
A promise unfulfilled,
Or a secret untold!

I trace the lines with my finger.
Feeling the phantom steps.
This map, a mystery,
A whisper of what might have been.

Lines: 28
