An April 2026 Entry for the Adam West Conspiracy that I forgot to enter. |
| I built it from plans I received in an email. I thought it was a joke. The email included links to obscure websites where I could order the various parts. I was not sure what it actually did because the promises that the plans made were impossible. It took me months to gather the parts and materials. Some were pretty expensive and they came from various exotic locals. Essences, and oils, crystals and elaborate circuit boards came from around the world. It was like Christmas. Things came in plain brown cardboard boxes but inside they were wrapped in silks and wads of various fibers. I am sure at least one wadding was raw yak hair. Assembly took longer. I had to learn how to solder, bleed hydrolics sand blend and form various natural compounds. When I finished I had a box with platinum coated leads hooked to it with natural rubber coated golden wires. I am not sure why it had to be platinum and gold but it was clear in the plans. Then came the test. First I had to find a recently deceased animal. That took longer than I thought it would. Rigor mortise could not have resolved. Eventually I found a cat on the side of the road. I rushed it home. I checked the diagrams and placed the leads on what I thought its chakra points were. Then I poured the two vials of compounds into the two funnels in the top of the box. With the turn of a knob I caused the two compounds to combine within the box. I stepped back to watch. I didn't think anything was going to happen. But then a glowing vapor came out of the two funnels it drifted as though it were searching out the cat. On touching it the glowing vapor solidified around it and began glowing brighter. Soon the whole garage filled with a blinding golden glow. I felt a little dizzy, and time seemed to slip sideways a little. Next thing I knew luminous golden shards shattered away from the cat. It twitched a bit and then stretched and stood up. The leads fell away. It came directly towards me and purred loudly as it did figure eight rubbing both of my legs. I named him Lazarus. 383 words prompt ▶︎ |
