Sharing His Light: Each in Our Own Way

Cultural harmony – cultural truce;
Searching for ways to cut blind hatred loose.
Living in symphony – each side by side,
Caring and sharing and living with pride…

Our cultures are rich and our cultures are vast;
We’ve knowledge of elders – respect of the past.
Our writings give way to our rules and our laws;
Our hearts join together in joyous applause.

So many grand cultures have watched the sun rise;
And then watched it set - with their people’s demise.
The reasons stand many with man casting blame -
We argue and fight and we kill in “His” name…

I wonder – who’s right in their thinking of God?
And whose truth is His truth? Whom shall we applaud?
The Muslims, the Christians, the Buddhists, the Jews?
The choices are many! Whose truth do we choose?

We all go to God in our own special way;
We all have a right to bow down and obey
‘The One’ - in a fashion befitting each life;
Without reservation – without moral strife.

Respecting – accepting - diversity – change;
Allowing – non-judging, no matter how strange.
We all carry Light in our hearts from “The Source”,
We all have the right to our destiny’s course.

I ask you, beseech you, I beg, I implore!
Accept how we live – each our way – without war.
I’m seeking respect for the rights of all men,
All cultures, religions, all life-forms…’a-m-e-n’.

Cultural harmony – cultural truce;
Searching for ways to cut blind hatred loose.
Living in symphony – each side by side,
Caring and sharing and living with pride…
