Simon is ready to pitch his next "rock solid" investment opportunity.

Tom McKenzie dried his hands and leant against the bar.

"Alright Simon, what're you trying to
rope me into this time?"

"Rope you... Rope you into?! Come on Mac! You say it like I haven't brought you quality opportunities over the years!"

"Like the
chain of English fish 'n' chip shops that were going to be the next big thing?"

"Yeah, well... you can't win 'em all, can ya?"

"Or the island resort, right before Covid? I almost lost the bar over that one!"

"Well who could have seen that coming? Besides, I made it up to you didn't I? Didn't you recoup everything on Bitcoin?"

"Yeah, you got me into Bitcoin alright. And then you got me out of it again, right before it skyrocketed in value."

"Yeah, okay, so we didn't maximize our upside. But you still came out ahead, right?"

Tom sighed. "Alright, let's hear it then."

Simon grinned. "Atta boy! Right, have you ever heard of English
rock candy?"

"Oh come on, Simon! Not another limey import!"

"No, no, not like that! Not the product - the technology! As a marketing gimmick! We'll have tech bros lining up!"

"I'm out!" said Tom.

"Really?" Simon pouted, "I really thought you'd go for this one - have some fun with it?"

"Really really."

"Oh well," he said quietly, slipping off his bar stool, "your loss."

Tom watched silently as Simon, head down, plodded out of the bar and across the street, then pulled his laptop out from under the bar. His Bitcoin portfolio was up again. Good thing he'd left most of it in when Simon said to bail. Time to skim another layer of cream off the top and diversify some more. Maybe he'd put it in rock candy. He chuckled at the thought. Or maybe a yacht.
