What differentiates me from a machine? A muscle I rarely flex.

I have no creativity
just a program inbuilt in me
that calculates silently
and math is what amazes me.

I love predictability
and I predict a change in me
a change to a less steely hue
I predict a me that can understand you.

Every dream is a data point
Every description pixels
It is only because of this
That I mix visions with you.

Your warm and vivid art
is that robotic?
Coming from a subconscious
organic impulse too deep to dissect the root?

I'm thinking of these roots,
of the water that feeds them.
What water can I drink
that won't damage my circuits,
what water would let something grow?

You and a tree both are straight limbed
robust, seasonal, alive, amazing;
what green leaves you have in your laughter;
I saw a show last night and I laughed too.

Burst out, little seed
when I least expect you'll save me.
I know you're there
Creativity.
