A poem on whether the world would be better if women were in power. |
| When the tide of the vote swung hard and fast, Women declared, “Your turn’s in the past.” No ballots for blokes, no votes to be cast, A “brief" little lesson that somehow held fast. The country ran smoothly (to everyone’s shock), Budgets were balanced, trains ran like clock. Men gathered outside with polite, puzzled eyes, Asking, “When do we vote?” under bright summer skies. At last the new leaders stepped out with a grin: “Democracy’s strongest when everyone’s in.” The rule was repealed, the ballots restored— And men never skipped Election Day anymore. |
