Back-road moon watch shared with meandering doe. For the moment, the road was empty of cars and the quiet was a tangible thing. Silvery beams coated us, the field broken only by the glitter of early lightning bugs. Truly, I was conscious that the universe came clear down to the ground. It was a moment. A moment shattered by the noisy mosquitoes who had found us in the night. |
