peace be with you
a common greeting
3across all cultures
welcome implies it
salaam aleichem
shalom
so many words
so many languages
and yet do we mean it
go in peace
our religions insist upon it
how is it that those religions
cry out for peace
yet shake the sabers of war
Crusades
Jihad
Religious Pogroms
killing over disagreements in the name of god
oh, but god is love
love thy neighbor as you love thy self
treat others as you would be treated
we make hypocrites of ourselves
with one side of our mouth we proclaim peace
with the other side we hate
blindly
without reason
based on what book you read
Koran
Bible
Torah and Talmud
Hindus
Buddists
Anamists oh my
we cannot trust each other
WHY!
