Time Well Spent...Time Spent Well

Time Slips...Either Way
by Reagana

One might say that time is all about how one spends the moments given...the seconds that quickly roll into minutes...into hours...into days...weeks...months, and, in the end...years.

Some might say that they have considered/do believe, their time well-spent. They are able to do those things that they desire. More time for family, perhaps. Traveling. Whatever they desire. They are always on the go. Time never slows for these types of adventurous people, they believe. Every spare moment is used on the move. They have the time, and in their logic, they use it well. Not a moment is wasted to idleness. They must constantly be on the move in order to feel the joyous flow of time...that does not quite touch them. There is a near-constant sense of urgency in all that they do. As thought they cannot bear the thought of missing out on anything that life has to offer.

Others might have the view that time is sometimes allotted for quiet...for introspection...for moments that tick by slowly, with nothing urgent to tug upon their hearts. They carve out time to relax, to take things slow; to allow time to study and truly immerse themselves within each moment...to envelop themselves in the mundane, and find a different level of joy within this. Even when performing their jobs or everyday tasks, contentment is sought and found within the small moments of everyday life.

Are either one of these better than the other? A better use of the time given to one?

You may find yourself in one of these categories, or somewhere in between. It matters not where you live upon this spectrum...Time Will find you! Its inexorable ticking away will seek to...and will...steal away those cherished moments, like a thief in the night. You may see it coming...you may catch it in the act...but there will be no stopping it.

You can try to bury it (hide its progress) within activity after activity...try to blind yourself to its shadow falling upon you. Or you may, in your quiet moments, pretend that the sounds of its lurching footsteps draw no closer.

What you try, matters not to the wheel of time. It will continue to turn, with or without your attempts to jam its mechanisms.

So, however you choose (or must) spend your time, do your best to make this time well spent/time spent well.
