If I'm starting something new, I wouldn't ask for a better start than to be under the moon |
| Once upon a time,I sat under the moon's light In a small garden, during a dark and peaceful night I took a long breath, as if preparing to tell an even longer legend Only to sigh briefly, with nothing to mention Though there was a myriad of feelings roaring inside Battling their way out, desperate to see the world, refusing to hide That night I wanted to scream, maybe even curse and for once show my dissatisfaction But that is just not me, as what doesn't kill me isn't worth the acknowledgement or much attention At least that was how I used to think for a while, before learning that's it's okay to throw words when needed Still, that was not what i did that night, for the beautiful silence of the night had to be appreciated Once upon a time, in that one special and memorable night I didn't go for a stroll, i didn't make a sound, i just sat there staring at the moon. it just felt right I really wanted to maybe sing a little, or even write something right then and there But no part of me felt like moving, as if every organ itself was staring and wanted to go nowhere It was such a beautiful silence, in which the only sound allowed was that of the wind embracing the trees Making them move in such a harmony, while the leaves fly around like green stars like a scene from dreams And then they kept flowing: the thoughts, the emotions...the demons i did my best to keep hiding A sense of misery, loneliness, and fatigue started to slowly creep in I thought I was past them already Yet there I was being brought back to reality But then it hit me, as the moon light grew stronger somehow like throwing an advice "what is over cannot be relived, but what remains doesn't have to be miserably lived" In that night, I was reborn Not through force, but something was indeed brutally torn Those concernrs, those fears, all the unnecessary "checkboxes" that i used to have for no reason Faced with the beauty of that scene, they had to fade, it is good to show them treason And so i spent the night under the calming light, accompanied by the breeze that cools the soul Acknowledged the insignificance of some of the past, and embraced the importance of today and what it holds As one wise turtle once said" yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. and today is a gift, that is why the call it the present" |
