Moving past years of survival and heartbreak to finally embrace a hard-won era of peace. |
| My Happy Era For so long I lived in survival mode, Counting losses, carrying impossible loads. One more heartbreak, one more goodbye, One more reason to sit alone and cry. I became fluent in starting over, In watching dreams slip farther away. I learned how to smile through devastation, And somehow keep breathing anyway. But maybe this chapter isn’t about surviving. Maybe the worst has finally had its say. Maybe the universe is growing tired Of sending storms my way. Maybe my happy era is waiting Just beyond this weary bend. Not a perfect life without scars, But a life that finally begins to mend. A home that feels like shelter. A laugh that doesn’t hide pain. A morning where I wake up hopeful, Instead of bracing for the rain. Maybe the people meant for me Will stay instead of disappear. Maybe love won’t feel so fragile. Maybe peace will finally live here. And when that day arrives, I won’t forget where I’ve been. The darkness taught me resilience, The losses taught me strength within. So I’ll welcome joy with open arms, Not because life was always fair, But because after years of merely surviving, I finally made it to my happy era. 🌻✨ |
