Into the Savage Garden

Set in 1870, a journalist is invited to a botany professor's home to discuss a trip.

August 1, 1870
Dear Mr.O’Collin,
As a member of the British Botanical Society, I, Professor Edward Ashwin, extend an invitation to my home this Friday at three o’clock for tea.
Having read several of your articles, regarding common gardening practices, I feel that perhaps you could be a great asset to our organization as a potential member. I would gladly help in advancing your career as either a journalist or a fellow botanist.
The discovery of new plants needs someone like you to help promote botany as a whole to the world. Which is why I’m hoping that our meeting will inspire you to join me, as I’m planning an expedition to Africa. In search of new plants that might fascinate the entire botanical society.
P.s. Make sure to wear long sleeves and pants when you visit.
