I saw her enter the bar. No where to turn. Disguise Number 201.

Dating in the Stars.
         The ex-flame walked towards the bar,
I tapped my neural-link with dread.
To flee this psychic laser scar,
I became a galactic tsar;
                             And wore a chrome plate on my head.

         "I’m Zorg," I lied with neon flair,
The human paused in mild surprise.
"I’ve come from stars beyond compare,"
With static crackling through the air;
                             I dodged the truth with glowing eyes.

         The awkward past was buried deep,
I spoke of nebulae and chrome.
While promises I couldn't keep,
Were buried in a cosmic heap;
                             And Zorg just wanted to go home.

         The human squinted, quite confused,
As hover-boots began to spark.
My cover story was abused,
The social trap was thus diffused;
                             I vanished quickly in the dark.

         I shed the mask and silver skin,
The planet faded into gray.
A desperate, frantic, silly grin,
Where safety lies in paper-thin;
                             And science hides the debt I pay.

Farewell to grace,
         I left the place.
