With and without the Trinity?

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date;
Sometimes, too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature’s changing course untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st;
Nor shall death brag thou wander’st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

Shakespeare hints at an eternal love between himself and the young man he refers to. He was religious, though, but to what extent I am not sure.

Romantic eternal love is often an object in poetry, books, or movies. The love between two people that extends beyond the border of time and death. It is a tempting possibility.

I always thought there was more than one love in this regard. The love between people, the love between partners, and the love as a state of being toward the universe as a whole.

Eternal love as such should be a possibility. For me, existence cannot be seen anymore without the Holy Trinity; I can only say that eternal love thus always has something to do with the Trinity. Because life and love have always something to do with the Trinity for me personally, because I have a personal connection with the Lord.

But in theory, I also think that for nonbelievers, eternal love is also possible. Although they don’t believe in the Holy Trinity, which by the way doesn’t exclude that the Holy Trinity believes in them.

2024 DECEMBER PROMPT: Is eternal love possible without the Trinity?
If God is One in Three persons, then we can speak of an eternal personal love of each member of the Trinity for each other. Therefore, when we say that God is love, this is something that has always been an essential feature of His character. His love for us then takes on the character of eternal love, manifesting in the particular context, moment, and person that it touches. Is it possible to speak of eternal love without the Trinity?
