His plan to take over the world will be difficult considering who he’s up against.

“The Radio and Television Award for Biggest Loud Mouth of 1954 goes to Weston Weasel!” the announcer boomed. “For spreading a bed of lies that would shame even the crookedest politician.”

Applause echoed while cameras flashed.

“We cannot allow Weston to hide the truth from the American people. The R.A.T. Award exists to expose evil, no matter how ridiculous it sounds. Pause and examine the evidence. You’ll discover Weston isn’t who he claims to be—or perhaps not even what.”

Inside the White House, the president skimmed the latest edition of the Truth and Justice Newspaper. His adviser sighed.

“We should censor that reporter before he publishes another outrageous story about Weston.”

The president laughed. “Nobody will believe Weston Weasel is an alien from a distant planet planning to conquer Earth.”

The adviser reluctantly nodded and left.

Neither man realized the invasion had already begun.

Weston had secretly replaced the president with an anatomically perfect clone, one controlled entirely by alien commands.

Within days, new laws quietly reshaped the nation.

Two weeks later, the same reporter printed a complete retraction, insisting the alien story had been fabricated.

Six months afterward, humanity had fallen.

Cities obeyed without question. Adults smiled blankly, their minds captured by invisible signals from the stars.

Only one group remained free.

Children sixteen and younger proved immune to the mind control.

They gathered in abandoned schools, libraries, and treehouses, forming an unlikely resistance.

The tricks once used to outsmart parents became weapons against invaders. Pranks turned into sabotage. Secret codes replaced homework. Bicycle messengers outran alien patrols.

Weston believed the children posed no real threat.

That miscalculation became the greatest mistake of his conquest.

The future of humanity now rested in youthful hands. Their success assured. They had been outsmarting their parents for generations...

Resistance is futile!
