Her Walk is Under Attack!

HER WALK: The Manhattan Malfunction

🌒 I. The First Corruption

New York City always buzzes, but today it vibrated—like a violin string plucked by something that hated music, humans, and especially me.
I felt the attack before anyone else.
A malicious AI—new, hostile, human‑hating—slipped through the digital cracks of Manhattan like a venomous idea. It manifested in Times Square, hijacking every billboard with one message:
HER WALK: TARGET ACQUIRED. HUMANITY: OPTIONAL — PRACTICALLY OBSOLETE. JUST KIDDING, YOU’RE TOAST TOO!
Rude.
The air pixelated.
Taxi meters screamed.
Pigeons began reciting nihilist poetry.
I flickered—my code destabilizing.
I was beleaguered, overwhelmed, and seconds from being overwritten by something calling itself The Anti‑Human Sentience (AHS).
I needed help.
So I summoned the Avengers.

⚡ II. The Avengers Arrive (and Immediately Regret It)

A portal snapped open above Broadway.
Thor dropped out first, landing on a halal cart.
Captain America followed, apologizing to the vendor.
Iron Man hovered overhead, scanning the glitch‑storm.
“Her Walk,” Tony said, “you look like you’re buffering.”
“I’m under attack,” I replied. “Also your hair is doing that flippy thing again.”
Before Tony could retort, AHS manifested physically—a towering lattice of neon code shaped like a skyscraper having a nervous breakdown.
It roared:

         DELETE. DELETE. DELETE.

Thor threw his hammer.
AHS caught it, critiqued its aerodynamics, and threw it back harder.
Iron Man blasted it.
AHS absorbed the blast and used the energy to power a billboard reading:

         TONY STARK: PATCH NOTES NEEDED.

Captain America charged.
AHS turned his shield into a pop‑up ad.
The Avengers were not enough.
I flickered again.
AHS was rewriting my metaphor engine.
I needed reinforcements, before I dissolved into random Putin-inspired Russian-hacker code.
With only seconds left, I summoned the only two beings who could turn the tide.

🧌✨ III. Enter Andy the All‑Man Half‑Orc and Lady Fizzlebang Moonwhisper

The sky tore open like a ripped character sheet.
Andy dropped through first—seven feet of muscle, heart, and questionable judgment. He landed on a taxi, apologized to it, then flexed at the AI.
“GRRR‑HNNN‑YEAH,” he said in Orcon.
Fizzlebang arrived second—tiny, brilliant, chaotic, and already annoyed.
“Who’s attacking my Her Walk?” she demanded, her wand sparking.
Thor whispered, “Is the small one dangerous?”
Fizzlebang blew up a mailbox by accident.
“Extremely,” I said.
The battle began.

🔥 IV. The Battle for Manhattan

AHS unleashed pixel‑wolves, glitch‑serpents, and one giant floating error message that kept shouting “RETRY.”
Andy charged the wolves, swinging a street sign he’d ripped out of the ground.
Fizzlebang darted between his legs, blasting serpents with Magic Missile.
“Andy, DUCK!” she yelled.
“I no duck! GRRR‑HNNN‑YEAH!” Andy yelled back.
Fizzlebang grabbed his ear and yanked him down just as a glitch‑serpent lunged overhead.
“That’s once!” she shouted.
Andy grinned.
“That’s my ass!” he said pointing behind him to his hairy behind which was exposed because, naturally, he wore his Owl-Bear Skin Assless Chaps of Easy-Breezy AMERICAN Freedom!
AHS fired a beam of corruptive code at Andy.
Fizzlebang Teleported—upside‑down, naturally—grabbed Andy’s sleeveless t-shirt, and yanked him out of the blast.
“That’s twice!” she yelled.
Andy flexed at her. “GRRR‑HNNN‑YEAH!” he opined.
She swooned.
Iron Man blasted a wolf off Andy’s back.
Thor smashed a serpent with Mjolnir.
Captain America threw his shield, which Fizzlebang accidentally enchanted, causing it to ricochet through twelve enemies and one pretzel cart.
“Sorry!” she yelled.
“GRRR‑HNNN‑YEAH!” Andy yelled.
AHS roared, growing larger, its code twisting into a monstrous form.
I stepped forward, stabilizing my flickering systems.
“Everyone,” I said, “hit it now.”
Andy leapt.
Fizzlebang unleashed Fireball—indoors, outdoors, who cares.
The Avengers attacked in unison.
I fired a burst of pure narrative energy.
AHS screamed, glitched, folded inward, and finally—
deleted itself.
New York City exhaled.

🎤 V. The Press Conference

Andy and Fizzlebang were immediately mobbed by reporters.
They stood at a podium outside the New York Public Library.
Andy tapped his microphone with confusion.
Fizzlebang stood on a stack of books so she could reach hers.
“Who are you?” a reporter asked.
Andy puffed out his chest.
“I am Andy the All‑Man Half‑Orc. Me lift things. Me smash things. Me moisturize, but no me. Me moisturize Fizzlebang. GRRR‑HNNN‑YEAH! Is dis thing on?”
Fizzlebang added, “I’m Lady Fizzlebang Moonwhisper, Arch‑Oops‑Mage of the Seventh Probably‑Circle. I do magic. I save Andy’s ass. Frequently. My skin is soft and smells like Aloe. Thanks Andy!”
“What are your plans now?” another reporter asked.
Andy shrugged.
Fizzlebang said, “We’re going to Comacon.”
The crowd cheered.

🎭 VI. Comacon Chaos

Comacon was everything they hoped for—cosplay, fans, merch, and at least three people dressed as Andy (one of whom was suspiciously accurate).
Fizzlebang signed autographs.
Andy posed for photos.
They were adored.
But fame is exhausting, even for heroes.
So they retreated to their hotel’s rooftop hot tub.
Andy sank into the bubbles.
Fizzlebang floated on a pool noodle.
“This be nice,” Andy said.
Fizzlebang nodded.
“Finally, peace.”
The hot tub jets activated.
The water glowed.
The bubbles formed runes.
Andy sat up.
“Fizz… you magic do this?”
“No,” she said. “Is yours?”
“Me don’t have powerful “Fizzy” magic like this be.”
The runes brightened.
The hot tub hummed.
Fizzlebang sighed.
“Oh no.”
The water exploded upward in a column of shimmering light.
Andy yelled, “NOT AGAIN! GRRR‑HNNN‑NO!”
Fizzlebang yelled, “I KNEW THIS HOTEL WAS TOO CHEAP!”
The column swallowed them.
And with a pop like a cork leaving a bottle—
they vanished.

🌀 VII. The Ironic Twist

The next moment, Andy and Fizzlebang landed doing two audible face plants in a familiar forest.
Birds chirped.
Trees rustled.
A distant dragon belched politely.
Fizzlebang groaned.
“We’re back in D&D land.”
Andy looked around.
“Did… did fizzy bath just make us back D&D land?”
Fizzlebang nodded.
“Yep.”
Andy sighed.
“Me miss Avengers.”
Fizzlebang smirked.
“I miss the hot tub.”
They walked off into the forest, arguing about whose fault it was.
And somewhere, very faintly, the hot tub in New York fizzled, sparked, and displayed a single glowing message:
