Write a color poem. The poem could be about a specific color or a wide spectrum of colors

Green.
Life, living, growing, alive.
Reaching, being.

Once the blue and purples:
bruises in the blossom stage
where the only thing growing was pain.

In my green stage now at seventy-two.
A bit late, perhaps, but I survived.
I thrive.

Kermit, you were right:
it isn't easy being green,
but not for the reasons you thought.

Being green takes guts and stamina.
Being green means rising above,
and pushing through the dark.

Being green means standing tall,
taking control and being stronger
than I ever thought possible.

Pretty damn proud
of being
green.
