what the title implies

Ephemeral emotion
vibrating commotion
in the liquid of my bones
blossoms for three days
changes like a moon phase

everytime I pass a mirror
I grow taller by an inch
my clothes smaller
my daughter in the photo used to wear them
I ask her if they’ll tear again
she stares back at me
a blondie, big front teeth
the distance between us
measured in a million thoughts and feelings
thousands of meals and hundreds of people

and if I transformed
everything
beyond my bones;
with my hair in flames
all that remains
is metamorphosis
the absence of what I once chose is
called To annihilate
