A Prophet Stands in Honor

Mark 6:4 is the basis of this poem, which has been created in lines of iambic tetrameter.

A prophet stands in honor known
among his land as words are sown.
His reputation's daily grown.

Yet, in his house with family live
no honor do they often give.
His childhood place this may deprive.

"Well-known: Contempt may surely be."
With distance greater honor see
for those so known by you and me.
