My Wife’s Memorial

Sylvia Ann Briley, my Dear Wife passed away on July 5th at 7:05 PM in Vandalia Illinois at the age of 73. She died from non alcohol related cirrhosis.

In accordance to her wishes we held a private going away party that following Thursday at my daughter’s private residence. The Rev JD Wehrle officiated the send off.

15 minutes before the Memorial Service was to start around 2:45 PM in the afternoon it started raining. It was a sunny day with no clouds in the sky. No white cumulus clouds and no dark clouds. Not one cloud in the sky. The sun was shining brightly.

It rained hard for about 10 minutes.
This rain wasn’t widespread as it only rained in the front yard. The driveway and all our vehicles were dry. Three sides of the house remained dry. None of the neighbors received any rain.

Then a rainbow appeared briefly in the cloudless sky. Meteorologist described this extremely rare kind of event from a cloudless sky as Serein. We took it as a sign from God that Sylvia was with him.

Immediately following the rain we all felt peace that God had visited us that day for Sylvia’s very special send off.

Goodby my Love! Thank you for 50 years along with two amazing children and five grandchildren. I will be thinking of you as you chase the butterflies in heaven.❤️
