A defiant traveler ignores all warnings to chart his own dangerous path into the unknown. |
| The guidebooks warned of rocky cliffs, Where shadows stretched out long and deep, Yet down he went against advice, Along the ridges, sharp and steep. He heard the calls to turn around, The anxious warnings from the shore, But pushed his boat against the tide, To row where none had dared before. The signs all pointed to the left, A clear and well-marked, simple track, But he ignored the paved ascent, And chose the path that led him back. He turned away from safety's light, Into the dark and tangled trees, Reversing course into the night, To find his own wild, wayward breeze. Line Count: 16 lines |
