I wrote this before she left me. before hurting me the way she did. before everything.

Staring at the moon
I saw you.
Its light, dimmed by the darkest clouds,
Yet still it stood, looking unbothered.

It doesn’t know its worth,
Yet it changes everything.
Changes the tides,
Lights the way for lost sailors
In the thickest of the nights
Even when the clouds try to hide it.

Sometimes, its glow gets darkened,
But when it manages to sneak through
Even that tiny bit,
It transforms the night.

What I’m trying to say is—
This world is better with you in it.
Like the moon,
You don’t even realise the difference you make.
But I do.

If no one else does, I need you.
I need you, I know it's hard to breathe,
I know there's a 1000 thoughts telling you not to,
But please—
Don’t leave,
I love you.
