A poem in remembrance of 9/11 on its 25th anniversary - a patriotic poem. |
A bestial and vengeful assault On the nation's iconic center, New York City; The Twin Towers, our skyline's World Trade Center in ungodly, vile ruins. Al Qaeda terrorists gaining control Of United Airlines aircraft Through hostile acts Of varicose and contemptuous engagement; Rerouting flights toward our city's Manhattan center And regional assets. The blazing and ferocious rocking Of asphalt and steel. The unbelievable enormity Of crumbling foundations Of buildings and streets Into fiery smoke and ashes - Emergency vehicles and brave firefighters Converging on Ground Zero, Rescuing hundreds and thousands from The ghastly and heartrending strikes Against two of the nation's Great historic landmarks, The World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Many souls perishing in the bloody aftermath Of the most deadly attack In American history. Twenty-five years have come and gone; And the United States appearing More powerful, positive, and resolute; The military and armed forces branches Of our brave and valorous nation Excelling in preparation of the Axis of Evil's Oncoming disasters and threats To our imperiled coasts And our besieged and beset allies... Families and friends and the proud country's Patriotic citizens and partners Remembering all of the fallen souls On this horrific day in 2001 With sadness, gravity and reverence. The immense sacrifice Of our wondrous relations and ties And the brave first responders Lost to this heinous and atrocious Criminal assault On our civil and decent society In honored focus. A prayerful and saintly code of ethics And respectful clarity befitting The greatest light for Planet Earth's Spiritual and unified attempts For promising and logical solutions For our loving universe's global influence Perpetuating in earnest. A parental, educational, and glorified conduct In the apparent and obligatory offing For our unabridged and complicated globe. In loving remembrance Of those responsible And freedom-seeking human beings And sweethearts On this awesome, honorable, And special planet... |
