NB Intended to be read aloud. The Irony of Iron Iron! What is it good for? Here in the body, or Earth's molten core? 26 protons, we need with a twist— It's the ultimate threat to all life that exists! An all-over tan from too heavy doses, Makes the doctor exclaim "It's hemochromatosis!", From the tint of your veins, You can see it's not good, But when he starts to explain "It's your blood that we'll drain..." Wait, no! Breathe... In chelation we'll trust, To wash out the rust, 'fore your body collapses from shorted synapses! If that doesn't kill ya just look to the stars, To that bright ball of gas or the surface of Mars, Or bloody great anvils travelling through space, Just waiting to flatten the human race. Assuming of course that we still exist, For Sol's sure to collapse from Nucleosynthesis. That's the irony... of iron. |
