Drabble prompt 12: A cat gets the power of speech

"Meow. MEOW. MEOW! Are you deaf?"

I knew I shouldn't have smoked that joint. I swear the cat just spoke.

"MEOW! Are you going to feed me, or do I have to go on a mouse hunt in the cellar again?"

I think I'm losing it. "Did you just talk to me?"

"I thought I was talking to you. I don't see anyone else in the room."

"This is crazy."

"And I'm hungry."

"If I feed you now, will you explain all this later?"

"What's to explain? You talk. I talk. End of story."

"Okay. Here's your favorite flavor."

"MEOWWW!"
