Goodbye cruel and unusual world

The boat had a leak
but nobody knew
Slowly the water entered
as an uninvited guest
It seeped in
unsuspecting to many
The change wan't noticeable
The boat began to sink
Nobody saw it coming
Down toward their watery graves
they went unwilling
Forced down to the depths
at the bottom of the lake
They struggled to stay up
Their legs caught in tangled ropes
They struggled to survive
They gasped for air
water filled their lungs
They twisted, but it only
brought to their demise
They choked for air
bubbles less frequent now
They knew they would drown
They tried to fight
Water now dark, murkey
but a light draws near
Eyes roll up in their heads
No more breaths left to breath
For they are dead
